There is no doubt that the floor of your kitchen would experience a rougher treatment than the other flooring areas of your house. All kinds of liquids including oil, sauces, juices and chocolate syrup fall on the floor. Thus, before you select the most ideal color combination according to your preferences, you have to ensure that the flooring material is durable.

Wooden Flooring is out of the question

A lot of people do get fascinated with wooden flooring. The problem is that this kind of flooring cannot be used for every area in the house. Particularly when you talk about the kitchen, wooden tiles simply do not work. Even if a small quantity of water falls on them, they would swell immediately. Other than that, wooden tiles are harder to clean than the conventional ceramic tiles

Avoid tiles with glossy finish

Glossy tiles have a slippery touch so if a liquid falls on them, there is every chance that anyone walking would slip immediately.  Selecting tiles with matt finish is a safer bet in this relation.

Opt for something in brown

Even if you use a vacuum every day to clean your entire house, you cannot prevent dust from entering it. Choosing light brown, beige or light mustard would surely make dust apparent. Tiles that are lighter colors including white, light grey, light blue and even crème are harder to clean and catch stains easily.

 

 

Choose the correct cleaning liquids

Getting the kitchen tiled is not a cheap investment by any means. Thus, it is important that quality cleaning liquids are used to get rid of the stains. Some of these liquids are very harmful for the tiling texture and result in discoloration.  The choice of the cleaning brushes is important as well. Using brushes with soft bristles is always a better option.
